Overview
The Hampta Valley Trek lies at 4270m (14039 ft) on the Pir Panjal Range in the Himalayas. This beautiful trek connects the Lahaul Chandra and Kullu Valley of Himachal Pradesh. Known for its beauty, you will see here the landscapes of the Himalayas.
This adventure trek will take you to the valley of wildflowers, alpine Meadows of conifer forest, rock walls, amazing waterfalls, snow-white glaciers, and a lot more. The great adventure will give you goosebumps as you will experience the freezing winds & snow trails.
The temperature in Hampta Valley normally ranges between 12°C to 18°C during the day and at night it ranges between -10 to -15°C. There is a possibility to see snowfall in September - October. All seasons are best to visit. But as the rainy season starts in May and June there, so, a route to Chandratal lake & Rohtang Pass and other places might be closed due to heavy rains.
The trek will go on Manali to Prini village. Prini is a small village in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. Prini is only 2 km away from Manali. It is all covered with snow, greenery, and breathtaking views.
Moving forward in this trek will take you to the next adventure from Prini to Sethan village, a place located in Hampta Valley known as a place for slow travellers. You will see the breathtaking views of the Dhauladhar range and river Beas. The locals are from the Tibetan community and represent Buddhist culture. Sethan lies at an altitude of 2700m above sea level. Winters are best to visit this place.
After experiencing the snow we will move towards Chika valley, where you will witness amazing waterfalls. Staying at the campsite at Chika is something that everyone desires.
As the trek starts from Manali. So many transportation facilities are available for Manali. You can reach Manali by the given modes of transport.
By Air - There is no airport in Manali. The nearest airport is in Bhuntar, so you can take a flight to Bhuntar and then reach Manali through any taxi or public transport like a bus.
By Bus- There are no direct trains to Manali. There are so many direct buses available to Manali like from Delhi, Chandigarh and other states.
By Road- You can book a private taxi.

Itinerary
Meet up with the representative in Manali. Then, go to Jobra, where the trek begins. Your trek leader will give you all the info you need about the trail. After that, start trekking towards Chika.
Rise to the beautiful mountain views and prepare for your next exciting trek to Balu ka Ghera. Once you arrive, set up camp and make yourself comfortable. Then, take in the sunset at Hanuman Tibba Peak and unwind under the starlit sky for the night.
Wake up, enjoy breakfast, and prepare for another thrilling day ahead. Today's highlight is crossing Hampta Pass. Pause briefly at Hampta village, named after the pass, before descending from Hampta Pass towards Siagoru.
After breakfast before descending to Chatru, a juncture where the paths of Hampta Pass, Spiti, and Rohtang Pass converge. Upon reaching, travel to marvel at the mesmerizing views of Chandrataal Lake before being transferred to your camp for the evening.
It's time to bid farewell to the picturesque valleys, breathtaking landscapes, and thrilling trekking experiences. Begin with an early morning transfer back to Manali, carrying cherished memories from your unforgettable journey through the Hampta Pass.

Only packaged drinking water is available for twice its price at the Hampta base camp. Try to carry as much water as possible with you. We cannot guarantee a bonfire at the base camp due to restrictions by the Forest department or due to weather conditions. Only dry pit toilet tents are available at the Base camp. In the rainy season, wear waterproof shoes with gaiters. There will be no electricity at the Base camp, So charge your electronic items before starting the trek and carry a power bank. We may cancel your trek without any notice if the climatic conditions are unfavorable. In such a case you can either choose the next subsequent date or an alternate trek suggested by the guide. However, there will be no refund. Leave No Trace: Don’t litter on the Trails, protect nature.
Hampta Pass Trek is not an easy trek as it’s a snow trek. Snow trek requires proper guidance and instructions. Experienced trek leaders will guide you better and tells you the pros n cons of the trek. You will also learn a lot more interesting facts about the place.
Yes, Hampta Pass is safe in all seasons. Hampta Pass starts from Mid-June to October. The post-monsoon time is best to explore the beauty and experience of snow trekking. Summer months of May & June are also preferred as amazing season to see the scenic vistas and lush greenery of the pass. Avoid trekking in monsoon as the trail becomes slippery and risky.
Alcohol and cigarette consumption both are prohibited on any high altitude treks. Because these kinds of activities can decrease your body stamina and make you dehydrated and thirsty. Try not to consume any of these and many trekking tours strictly not allow the trekkers to do any such activities on the trek.

- Due to any restrictions such as sudden government policies or regulations, health hazards, medical emergencies, or unprecedented weather conditions, activities and tours may be nonoperational and be canceled. In cases such as these, operators will attempt to cater to the traveler as an alternate, which is feasible in nature. However, any refund would not be catered.

- Check the weather: The weather conditions in the Kedarnath region can be unpredictable, so it's important to check the weather forecast before starting your journey. Avoid traveling during the monsoon season (July to September) when the region experiences heavy rainfall and landslides.
- Acclimatize properly: Kedarnath is located at an altitude of over 11,000 feet, so it's important to acclimatize properly. Spend a couple of days in nearby towns like Guptkashi, Gaurikund, or Sonprayag before starting the yatra.
- Pack wisely: Pack light and carry only the essentials. Make sure you have enough warm clothes, sturdy shoes, sunscreen, and a first-aid kit. You can also rent or buy trekking equipment from nearby towns.
- Follow the Yatra route: Stick to the designated Yatra route and avoid taking shortcuts. This helps preserve the fragile ecosystem of the region and minimizes the impact on the environment.
- Respect local customs: Kedarnath is a holy site for Hindus, and it's important to respect the local customs and traditions. Dress appropriately and seek permission before entering any religious sites.
- Hire a guide/porter: Hiring a guide or porter can make the Yatra easier and safer. They can provide valuable information about the Yatra route, carry your luggage, and help in case of an emergency.
- Be prepared for emergencies: The Kedarnath Yatra is remote, and medical facilities are limited. Carry a first-aid kit and any necessary medications. It's also a good idea to have a satellite phone or other communication device in case of an emergency.
